But, how did we get here? Fousey’s journey to becoming the next up rap star was a road not easily paved. Following his epic return to the internet in 2023, 2024-Fousey has experienced many ups and downs that have led us to where we are now: in high anticipation for his music to hit streaming platforms so we can all jam out to what might be one of the most entertaining celebrity identity changes to-date.
This blog will break down how Fousey masterfully captured the internet’s attention in recent months and achieved his epic rebrand as Rapper YSE.
Who is FouseyTube?
Internet personality, FouseyTube, was born Yousef Saleh Erakat on January 22, 1990, in Fremont, CA. Fousey’s Recent Memorable Internet Moments (2024)
Since returning to streaming in 2024 with a new Kick contract, a new medication protocol, and a fresh outlook on his career, we’ve lived through many content phases of Fousey. We’ve watched him collaborate with streamers like Ice Poseideon at his Kick-Sponsored movie-themed Hunger Games Event, he’s taken us IRL to night clubs where he’s filmed himself vibing and rizzing up women, we’ve also seen him host tryouts for G7 Fight Club, an event that brought us real-life boxing entertainment Brad Pitt Style. In 2024, Fousey also took us into his personal life, streaming in-depth speeches about who he is behind his public image mask and offering up insider information about his friendship woes with fellow internet personalities Sneako and Adin Ross.
But, apparently engaging in all that internet drama wasn’t the direction Fousey saw his career going, because what happened next took many by surprise. Of all the possibilities life has to offer, I don’t think Fousey becoming a rapper was something many people had on their bingo card. But, here we find ourselves: knee-deep in the YSE Era: Fousey the rapper.
Is Rapper YSE Internet Personality Fousey?
So, now you know, the answer is yes: internet personality Fousey has officially announced that he now goes by the new name, YSE.
It hasn't been more than a hot minute since Fousey YSE went from burning tiki torches on a beach, oversharing about intimate parts of his life and crying about his industry relationships. But, now that this new rap persona is born, let's discuss the early days of YSE’s rap life.
Fousey Starts His Music Career with N3ON Diss Track
In mid-October, Fousey decided to spark up some controversy with his longtime nemesis, live streamer N3on. He went live on Kick at a music studio with music artist and producer DDG, to record a diss track directly addressing his beef with his live-streaming colleague.
Fousey was live for hours, giving the fans an direct look into the process of producing the diss track. Overall, the music session was successful and resulted with Fousey dropping his new song titled “IGD”, which is short for “I Got D*ck”, an aggressive message to N3on that implies that he’d like to have sexual relations with his girlfriend, live streamer Sam Frank. The lyrics “B*ch I’m tryin’ to f*ck Sam Frank” reinforce the sentiment of the disrespectful record.
Shortly after recording this song, Fousey would officially announce his new career venture: to become a rapper known by the name YSE, an identity completely separate from the 2011 internet prankster named FouseyTube that the world met all those years ago.
Fousey Goes to Australia to Record a Rap Album, Announces Name Change to YSE
In the next part of the story, a lot happens in a short period of time, so buckle up. Keeping up with Fousey’s life is not for the faint of heart, and those who were watching his recent stint in Australia live, know exactly what I mean.
The first mishap that Fousey encountered in Australia was related to his physical health. He developed a kidney stone and experienced massive amounts of pain in the early hours of his first stream in the country. This forced him to end the stream while he sought medical attention.
The trip was initially promoted to fans as a 24/7 live experience where we could watch Fousey record his debut album as YSE. He planned to stream the entire album-making process on Kick, giving his audience a up-close-and-personal peek into his new life as a rap star.
After leaving the hospital in Australia, Fousey met with the Kick Co-Founder Eddie Craven to discuss a new live streaming deal with the company. According to Fousey, they agreed on a financial arrangement which guaranteed Fousey a sum of money so long as his 30 day music-filled Australia stream went off without a hitch. For Fousey, that meant no arrests and no mental hospital visits.
At this point, there was nothing that could stop YSE. As soon as he got his health under control and his Kick deal secured, he remained committed to giving his fanbase what he promised: a 24/7 livestream of his album being recorded. But, this plan started to unravel when he began exhibiting manic behaviors that led him to lash out at employees, many of which he fired on the spot.
Fousey Gets Into Viral Fight with Employee
The most notable moments of Fousey aggressively firing an employee took place in his Australian Air BNB. Fousey confronted his then manager who he felt was slacking off and yelled controversial slurs at him. The clip almost turned into a full-on fight as Fousey had to be held back after throwing a punch at his now-fired employee. Clips of this altercation went viral online and garnered millions of views.
After that, fousey continued to display manic behaviors including vocalizing suicidal ideations, at which point Kick stepped in and banned his account from being able to go live. While Fousey did end up getting unbanned, his plans of recording his album in Australia deteriorated as legal issues stemming from recent altercations began to arise. He would eventually end up firing his whole music team in Australia, letting his U.S. Manager, Nadeem, go, losing the rights to the music he worked on, and going rogue. After announcing a fake trip to Japan to throw off those who might be curious about his wherabouts, Fousey ended up flying home to Southern California days later and announced it on social media.
What Does YSE Stand For?
Now that Fousey is officially YSE, people should know the meaning behind his new name. YSE stands for Yousef Saleh Erakat, the abbreviation of his official government name. He’s even gone as far to change his Twitch username to YSEG7. Fousey has also announced more social media handle changes are to come.
Fousey Leaves Australia, Returns to Los Angeles to Continue Recording His Debut Album
YSE’s music career might have taken an unexpected turn while in Australia, but when he got back to America, he hit the ground running with a new plan. He immediately found a new team of music artists to collaborate and produce his album with. His new music production team includes award-winning rapper Siya, among others.
Fousey Secures Music Features with Lil Baby, Soulja Boy and That Mexican OT
Since announcing his new career as a rap artist, YSE has been eager to share his journey with fans. He’s been dropping hints about features that will be on the album, leaking music collaborations with some major artists. Some artists he claims to have featured vocals on the album are Lil Baby, Soulja Boy and That Mexican OT. With major industry hitters like that, Fousey is definitely off to a great start with his music career.
What To Expect From Fousey/YSE’s Music Career
The beautiful thing about the new world of live streaming is that the story is always being written. But, as of now Fousey is currently in Southern California recording his debut album under the rap name, YSE. For those interested, he’s constantly live on both Kick and X, where he previews his music-making process in real time.
